28.6.2006Organizing a IEEE IES INDIN 2006 BACM track.
Peter Palensky (Secretary of IES-BACM) chaired a conference track titled" Ubiquitous Sensors/actuators network" at the INDIN 06 in Singapore. Most contributions of this track were heavily related to building automation. Therefore the upcoming INDIN 2007 provides a special track called "Buildings, Networks and Automation" which deals with multiple building automation related topics like convergence of networks or facility management.

1.10.2006The national symposium IGW (Intelligente Gebäude und Wohnungen - Intelligent Buildings and Apartements) was held in 2005 and 2006 and tries to narrow the gap between research, industry and building operators. For all participants of the meeting it is essential to understand the position and motivation of their counterparts, in order to enhance future building automation systems. Building automation as an independent branch of study has been neglected far too long by research institutes and the industry. Right now it is important to include representatives of as many relevant professions as possible into the research process for forthcoming building automation systems.Dietmar Dietrich
